May's Member Appreciation - Clare Singleton

In May, we celebrate our wonderful register member Clare Singleton, a meditation teacher based in Kent. Clare’s business ‘Revive’ incorporates both yoga and meditation online and in person. Clare asks for donations to help her local hospice for those attending her offerings.

We asked Clare to share some information about her business, her teachings and her own meditation experience, so that you can get to know her better.

Here is what Clare told us about her own meditation experience…

“My first experience of meditation was during my yoga classes many years ago! at the end when we relaxed into savasana. Moving forward - around 12 years ago I attended an 8-week mindfulness cognitive therapy course and from this I started to meditate daily. Over the years it has really help me calm down and become less “in my head “and more present into each moment”.

Clare trained with BSoM to become an externally accredited meditation teacher because…

“I wanted to train to be able to help others gain the benefits that I had received and work with a professional organization”.

What she loved about the training was…

“That we had an exam to work towards, that it was accredited was great. The science really appealed to me – learning how our brain works! I loved it all”.

About Clare’s business ‘Revive’…

“I retired from owning a holistic spa business that I had run for 20 years which was full on! so I wanted to slow things down, not work full time and give back into my local community.  I set up a weekly zoom class for my yoga and meditation practice and asked for donations for my local hospice. Then last October I started teaching from our beautiful garden room once a week as well. I ran my first retreat day which I loved. I will be running more of these this year. My classes always include breathwork, slow movement and meditation. I don’t have a website or social media – just word of mouth and recommendations”.

Clare’s favourite aspect of teaching is…

“Seeing students look and feel relaxed and recharged after the practice.  Raising money for the hospice we are currently just over £3000.”

How you can work with, or find out more about Clare and her meditation sessions:

Zoom classes - Monday morning with a donation of £5 to £10 per week. Paid directly to the hospice in the weald (see link below).

Or you can email Clare to be put on a wait list for her next retreat day.
